KIARA

I went to the shelter looking specifically for an adult dog. I saw Kiara but didn't think too much about her because she had puppies with her and I figured she wouldn't be allowed to leave until the puppies were gone. I took out a few other dogs instead and decided to bring my other dog back the next day to let him meet the ones I had picked out. When I came back, I instead went straght to Kiara's cage and took her out instead. She and my dog seemed to get along ok so I decided to bring her home.

She didn't come without her share of problems. She was underweight, had a bad case of mastitis, and I'm pretty sure she had been abused in the past as she would cower and use the bathroom when I would go to pet her. A few days later she got a severe case of kennel cough and her fever went so high I thought for sure she wouldn't make it. After long rounds of antibiotics, good meals, and lots of TLC, Kiara bounced back, literally.

She is such a happy dog and doesn't walk, she prances or bounces whereever she goes. She loves to run through the fields on the farm and roll in the grass on her back. Kiara has been such a joy in my life and I don't know what I would do without her. I'm so glad for the opportunity to have her in my life and to have been able to help her.
