THE SHANNON CHARLTON MEMORIAL GARDEN

On September 11th, 2008, the Shannon Charlton Memorial Garden was officially dedicated at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter and Humane Education Center. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Terri Sternberg, and attended by 25 animal lovers, PCHS Board Members past and present, volunteers, and friends of the Charlton family. The garden was dedicated to Shannon as a lovely and peaceful place to reflect on the love of pets.

This beautiful pet-themed garden was landscaped by Bud and Brenda Charlton, their daughter Sandy Tuck, and her husband, Deno. The garden is open to the public to honor pets and as a place of solace when a beloved pet is lost. Pearl was the first PCHS pet to be buried in the garden, so she will forever be remembered.

We hope citizens will come and enjoy the garden and learn to appreciate nature and pets that give us so much and ask so little in return. While they're visiting, we also hope they'll find a new friend awaiting a forever loving home!
